The Countdown Begins...

So I know it has been a while since my last post but the past week just flew by.  I am in my final days of living in Tulsa and I have to say that I am really scared about moving down to Durant, but there is also a side of me that is a bit excited too! I have never lived in a small town so I am very interested to see how I adjust to this.  Last week at work, my co-workers threw me a going away party which was so nice of them.  I was overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and generosity that they showed me.  They gave me this beautiful name plate and card holder with my name engraved on it!  I was so overwhelmed and sad that I was actually going to be leaving next week that I began to cry.

This was the first real job that I had since getting out of college so moving on to something different has been really hard for me.  I think I have been very blessed to have developed incredible friendships and relationships with my co-workers.  I really enjoy and love working with them.  I don't think it happens very often where you get along with everyone at work.  This is something that I hope happens at my new job. With my last 3 days of work coming up I know they are going to be hard for me, emotionally.  I know my husband and I made the right decision, and I can't wait to feel settled and more comfortable with our decision to move.

On a side note, today is one of my dear friends and work spouse's birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISSY!

What's in a name?

So, in my first blog I let everyone know my reason for blogging and a glimpse into what is going on in my life right now.  For my second post I thought I would explain the name of my blog.  Missy (the other therapist at my work and also a good friend) and I have our own offices that are at the other end of the building so whenever we have down time or are doing paperwork we always have music on.  Much of this time we sing back and forth to one another in what I would call serenading each other with our beautiful voices....haha.

One artist in particular whom we know most of her songs is...Britney Spears.  Somehow we both seem to know so many of her great classics so whenever they come on we always sing along.  On Britney's second album she did some co-writing on the last song on the album called Dear Diary.  It literally sings as an entry in someone's diary!  Since Missy and I both know this song we love to sing it back and forth to one another and also improvise by adding our own lyrics to the music.  I know this sounds totally dorky but we always get suck a great kick out of it!  So when Missy talked me into getting a blog I thought it would be funny to title my blog this!  So that is how my blog became what it is.

Why a Blog?

So, this is my first time doing anything like this.  I'm not one who usually blogs or talks about my life but I figure that since I am making some big changes in my life that I needed to do this to help me stay connected to my friends.  About 2 months ago, my husband Matt took a job in Durant, OK.  This put our world upside down because now we would be moving and I would have to look for a new job and we would also have to sell our house.  Needless to say, I was really upset about all this change but new that this was what was going to  be best for our future.

Now the change has come for me...I got a job in Durant and I am going to be leaving Tulsa in about 3 weeks.  Tulsa is the only town I have lived in except for college so this is really out of my comfort zone.  I have been working at my  place of employment for almost 4 years, and have made some great friends along the way.  My very close friend Missy was the one who suggested I write a blog! I thought it over and since I'm not the best at calling people, I thought this would be a great idea to keep in contact with my friends.  I'm going to do my best at writing about my new adventures in Durant and adjusting to a whole new lifestyle down there.  So now that I am done ranting I can say that I have now gotten my first blog done!
